Meals

At Copmanthorpe Childcare Centre all meals are provided and cooked on site by our nutritionally qualified cooks. We also encourage children to get involved with planning and preparation of snacks.

Mealtimes are a real social occasion and staff sit and eat with the children. We believe that eating healthily is extremely important in the development of young children.

We acknowledge that sugary foods and drinks, fatty foods or foods containing additives are almost unavoidable in the modern diet. However we try our best to plan menus to minimise this and encourage a wide range of foods to suit all.

Copmanthorpe Childcare Centre cater for all dietary requirements and use local and seasonal produce. Water is available throughout the day and milk is given at snack times.

Breakfast snacks: Toast, cereal, crumpets, muffins, pancakes.

Lunch: Hot cooked meal and pudding. E.g. pasta bake, shepherds pie, jacket potato, casseroles, fish pie, sausage and mash or curry. Fruit and yoghurt or crumble / sponge and custard.

Afternoon snack: Fruit

Tea: Sandwiches, soup, cheese on toast, wraps, vegetable sticks and home baked goods.
